Musical Cline twins march to different beats Los Angeles Times
While Nels' communication is pronounced by zig-zagging tangents, his associate measures his words carefully as the twins take responsibility topics ranging from their register-obsessed West L.A. young womanhood to their new albums -- "Dastard" for Nels and "Continuation" for Alex -- released on the same day last month on the Culver Town-based jazz brand Cryptogramophone.REDCAT is hosting a late 10-year-anniversary for the denomination featuring the brothers' particular ensembles tonight and Saturday.
"The as a matter of actual fact that these recordings found their inceptions and were recorded at around the same antiquated . . . in some way inspired a nice of summing-up," says violinist Jeff Gauthier, Cryptogramophone chief and the brothers' longtime old china and collaborator. "After many years of traveling enormously strange yet somehow match mellifluous roads, [the albums] say something very offensive about the artistic lives of these musicians."
That shared melodious game plan lends itself probably to what Alex has called "the match unavoidability
